Alexa LaBarbiera
Alexa LaBarbiera comes to LaBarbiera & Martinez with years of experience in corporate law, advising founders, emerging companies, and closely held businesses on transactions and strategic growth. Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, venture and private equity financings, entity formation, commercial agreements, and ongoing corporate governance.
Alexa brings a distinctive perspective to her practice, having experience on both the legal and founder sides of corporations. In addition to advising clients, she is the founder of Pastamalfi, a frozen pasta-meal company. Pastamalfi was recognized in FoodBytes! by Rabobank’s 2024 End-of-Year Market Map as a Top 50 Food Startup to Watch, selected from more than 2,100 companies worldwide, and its products are currently sold in retailers across the Tri-State area. This firsthand operating experience informs Alexa’s practical, business-oriented approach to legal counsel.
Prior to joining LaBarbiera & Martinez, Alexa trained at prominent law firms where she represented buyers and sellers in equity and asset transactions, negotiated sophisticated commercial agreements, and served as primary client contact from initial structuring through closing.
Alexa earned her B.A. in Cross-Cultural Communication through Romance Languages from Vanderbilt University, graduating with academic honors. She received her Juris Doctor and LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from Cornell Law School. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and is fluent in English, Italian, French, and Spanish.
